About the Instructor — Chris Klein
From the Artist: My work is a blend of artistic skills, which are expressed in my personal treatment of landscape, object and figural work. I paint in a realistic style when I make that choice such as portraits, still life and landscape.
My most personal works flow from imaginings, which echo my being through a symbolic mythology. The choice of a naïve style of painting in these works is quite conscious; it helps to delve into my personal and archetypal subconscious content.
I have an AA degree in Studio Art from Nassau Community College in New York and a BA in Studio Art from the State University College at Oneonta, New York. From 1998 to 2000 I attended Courses in Painting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, which helped me to develop a more personal artistic statement. In 2001, I attended courses on the graduate level at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
In New York I was a board member of the Art League of Nassau County and I was their Newsletter Editor and their Graphic Artist.
My wife and I left New York for Florida in September of 2013.
I have won many awards during my school years and prior to my move to Florida and several awards since my move here. My artwork is in many private collections.
I am a member of The Brandon League of Fine Arts at present as its Vice President and its president for 6 years before this. I was also its Graphic Artist and the Newsletter Editor from 2014 to 2017
I believe that true works of Art create an identification between the viewer and the viewed.
