On Campus Programming:

TRA and Tampa Walls! have joined togeher to partner with Hillsborough County Schools in alignment with Superintendent Addison’s Davis’ commitment to innovative school-based initiatives. Our programs include mural placement by professional artists on campuses of schools that encourage creative freedom, collaboration, and hands-on high-value learning experiences.

Mural Painting and Effective Placemaking Approach: What sets Mural School apart?

Professional network of artists: Through Tampa Walls, we invite world-class artists who are innovators in their field. These professional artists then create a workshop for art students at the school.

What the students learn:

                • How art careers thrive through networking

                • Self-branding

                • Mural Painting techniques

                • Hands-on Art Techniques such as grid transferring, using a projector and squiggle methods

                • Art as a foundation of organic design

                • Communities in art

                • How professional artists use S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) based skills.

Beautification: A mural painted on campus. The schools we partner with will receive two murals at their campus - one created by professional artist, and one created by the students and volunteers, which is inspired by the techniques learned in the workshops at the school.

An Inspired Legacy

Matt Callahan

Carrying on the legacy of Tampa Bay Artist Matt Callahan.

Matt Callahan, an artist based out of Tampa who painted as “Man Made Murals” was a point of information and support for many Bay Area artists. He tragically left the community in an unexpected death on April 13th, 2018.

Quote from St. Pete Catalyst: - by Tampa Artist Bekky Beukes

“He had been in contact with me when I was about to do my first mural in St. Pete,” says Beukes. “He knew that I was nervous about it. And without any kind of prompting, he was reaching out to me frequently, making sure that I was feeling confident, offering all kinds of advice.

“And he showed up with enough tools for myself and him, in case I didn’t have what I needed. He was more than happy to share tricks of the trade that he’d acquired over the years that he’d been doing this. He took time out from what he was doing, just to help me learn something new.”
