About the Workshop:
Gel plate printing is a fun and versatile method used to create monotype prints. In addition to learning the basics of printing with a gel plate, students will also experiment with stencils, botanicals, and other “found items” to create their prints.
Cost
$50 for TRA Members, $65 for Non-Members, if paid by cash or check. If paid online, a convenience change has been added to the price. If you are paying by cash or check, please mail your check to TRA and email Judy Milsaps.
Supply List:
(1) Gel plate (5x7 or 8x10) - can be ordered on Amazon. 5x7 gel plates are available for purchase at the workshop for $13.
Acrylic Paint - Academy (Walmart), Liquitex (Walmart) or Basic (Michaels)
(1) Brayer - 4 inch hard or soft (Amazon or Blick)
(1 pad) Mixed Media Paper - 9x12 (Strathmore or Canson)
(1) Paint Brush - Small #2 round and/or Medium #8 filbert

OPTIONAL: While a limited number of items and objects used to create texture(s) on the gel print will be available in class, students are encouraged to bring their own in order to personalize their works. Here are some suggestions:
Natural botanicals - Ferns, moss, leaves, tall grass, feathers, etc.
Textures and Shapes - bubble wrap, inside of a roll of paper, plastic geometric shapes, rubber stamps, inside of a cardboard box, wide weave fabric, string, old lace, etc.
Stencils - Home made and/or commercial
